A talk on The Aldingbourne Rife as a Wildlife Corridor
Introduced by the Really Wild Bognor and Felpham Network
On Thursday, 1st May, the Really Wild Bognor and Felpham Network is putting on a talk on the Aldingbourne Rife as our own local wildlife corridor. Inspired by the Knepp ‘Weald to Waves’ project, it will explore the history, ecology and hydrology of the channel and landscape.
The Rife affects us all running from our surrounding countryside through the heart of our urban community. It is a haven for our wildlife connecting our fields, our beaches, and the kelp fields but is also susceptible to pollution from local farms and sewage releases. We need to understand it more, to protect it and see what we can all do to help its wildlife.
Key speakers will include include:
Western Sussex Rivers Trust on history, biodiversity and water quality
Really Wild Bognor and Felpham on how gardens and local spaces can contribute
Final Straw on keeping our adjoining beaches clean
Felpham Memorial Village Hall
Thursday 1st May
7pm start
The event is free with a suggested donation on the door of £3.
