Works to Flansham Lane and Felpham Way

Project: Pedestrian Crossing Refurbishment

I am pleased to inform you that as part of our continuing efforts to improve the highways, work is due to commence soon at Flansham Lane near Roundle Road, Felpham.

What we’re doing

This project will include;

Upgrading obsolete traffic signals equipment with new poles, traffic signals controller and more energy efficient LED traffic signal heads.
New additional pole and traffic signal heads on the Eastside of the crossing to improve both pedestrian safety and traffic signal head visibility for road users.
Inclusion of pedestrian beepers and rotating tactile devices to aid those with visual impairments to cross safely.
Pedestrian tactile paving is to be replaced.

When this will take place

The work will start on 14th May 2018 and is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete. Our hours of work will generally be between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

Due to the nature of the works being delivered you may experience some disturbance and we apologise for this in advance.

Before the works start, we will erect advance warning signs in the local area, letting you know any changes to the start date.

Road Restrictions during the work

In order to protect our workforce and the public, 24hr 2-way traffic managementwill be required and will remain onsite for the duration of the work.

In addition, a temporary pedestrian crossing will be onsite for the duration of the work.
